Studio Production, Week 3 9/20-9/29

Students will produce a daily "Live" production
Students will work on a weekly project and learn new video/ production skills

1. Each day, students will arrive at 7:20 and begin actual production at 7:40

2. Students will participate in a Post Production Discussion (Students will discuss the daily program, changes, positive comments and next-day production

3. Next, Students will work on their weekly project. Each week, students will complete a small video project for BASH. (The first project will entail students completing new segments for BASH)
-First segments:
Approved Segments:
1. Students with projects that passed the focus groups should brainstorm and consider audience/ teacher suggestions
2. Students must redo their project and export them to their final folders by Friday, 9/24

Non-Approved Segments:
1. Students will projects that did not pass the focus group standards must retool or redo another project for testing
2. Scripts, paragraphs and story boards will be due by Wednesday
3. Final projects must be exported by 9/28 (Tuesday before fair)
4. Any project not exported by this date will receive a zero

Standard - 1.9.11.A: Use media and technology resources for research, information analysis, problem solving, and decision making in content learning. Identify complexities and inconsistencies in the information and the different perspectives found in each medium.
1.9.11.B: Evaluate how the techniques used in media modify traditional society.
1.2.11B - use and understand a variety of media and evaluate the quality of material produced

-First segments must be exported with graphics by Friday, 9/17

Directions:
1. Topic approved by Mrs. Christian
2. Finalized group list
3. General paragraph
4. Formal script- Turned in by Tuesday
5. All editing to be completed by Friday, 9/17
6. Export graphics for preview: Friday, 9/17
7. Monday will be a day for changes

A. No sloppy edits
B. Catchy Titles
C. 1 second of black before your project
D. Must fade in and out
E. Clear audio

2. Students will participate in a Post Production Discussion (Students will discuss the daily program, changes, positive comments and next-day production

3. Next, Students will work on their weekly project. Each week, students will complete a small video project for BASH. (The first project will entail students completing new segments for BASH)
-We will begin to review possible segments on Tuesday

4. This week, students will run through production
--Since this will be our first week of actual production, students should familiarize themselves with their new positions.
--Each day we will record the morning production and discuss it.
Thursday - official tape and critique

PERSONAL NOTE:
I am very proud of you! Please remember that this is the first week of production. Wednesday will be a milestone. Keep your chins up, smile, and think before you speak. Remember, your mics are always live.

This is your time to show BHS who you are and what you can do.

NEXT WEEK: SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Project 1
80's Music video
1. The class will be divided in half
2. Each group will be assigned a JA as an executive producer
3. The class will watch a collection of music videos
4. Each group will brainstorm song titles and ideas/ concepts for their group projects
5. JA's will assign positions
6. Each student will receive a performance check

Before a script can be submitted, the following work must be turned in to Mrs. Christian:
